About Me:
I grew up in Wisconsin and moved to Portland in 2017 to begin my psychiatry residency at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), which I completed in 2021. Before starting my private practice, I worked as an assistant professor at OHSU, teaching medical students and residents while treating patients at Unity Center for Behavioral Health.
I rely on evidence-based standards for medication management and psychotherapy to ensure safe, effective, and personalized treatment. My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps people build psychological flexibility, learning how to respond more effectively to difficult thoughts and emotions while moving toward a life that reflects their values. I prioritize patient education and emphasize the importance of lifestyle factors such as sleep, physical activity, nutrition, and light exposure. I teach mindfulness, meditation, and breathing techniques to help you manage stress and feel more grounded.
I work best with adults who want to make meaningful changes in their lives, even if they’re feeling stuck or uncertain. My approach is collaborative and respectful of your values and goals, and I aim to help you respond more skillfully to painful thoughts and emotions and take meaningful steps toward what truly matters to you. I listen closely, support deeper self-understanding, and help you build a life that feels fulfilling and aligned with your values.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy music, spending time outdoors, and exploring new parts of the Pacific Northwest. I’m a fan of comedy and sports, and I value time with friends, family, and my dog. I enjoy going to movies, reading, and supporting efforts that protect animals and the environment.
